We are pleased to announce that the club has just completed a major refurbishment of the floodlights on the front courts. All the old light units on top of the poles have been replaced with new polycarbonate units designed for “extreme and hostile environments” which should better withstand the high winds and salty sea air of Troon.

The operation of the floodlights remains as before. Please look at the info section of the club website for more information.

Monday Evening Floodlit Tennis

To encourage more members to make use of the lights, we are trialling a regular floodlight tennis evening every Monday (weather permitting!) from 7pm until 9pm, starting on 14 November. Instead of using tokens for the lights, each person attending will pay just £2 for the evening. Don’t worry if you don’t have a playing partner, just come along and mix in with whoever is there.

Numbers permitting, play will be doubles. Better juniors may also join in, but if oversubscribed, seniors will have priority. Someone will also be on hand to sell tokens for use at other times.

Buying Tokens

Floodlight tokens can be purchased in the clubhouse from any member of the committee, from the club coach, Russell Macdonald, or during the Monday evening floodlight sessions. We ask that where possible members buy at least £10’s worth of tokens at a time. Tokens cost £10 for 5, or £2.50 each. Each token lasts for 30 minutes. Please ensure that you have sufficient stock of tokens for your coming needs.
